This is Papaver Dulce, meaning 'Sweet Poppy', our foundation Siberian Queen.

Poppy is an incredibly sweet natured girl; loving and gentle she likes getting stokes and cuddles, but is quite quiet and shy around strangers. She loves being outside in the run where she can watch the birds and help with the gardening (digging holes in the flowerbed is helpful isn't it?!). Since we moved house Poppy has established her new favourite place to sleep is on top of the sky box, which we think must be nice and warm, she also likes sitting on the sill of the bay window watching the world go by and getting lots of admiring comments from passers by.

In her first year Poppy did very well on the show bench, being awarded a 'Merit' at every show we went to. She received some brilliant comments from the judges (all of whom mention how lovely her temperament is)! We gave her a break from showing while she was nursing and recovering between litters but we hope to take her out again soon to try for her Intermediate certificates.

Poppy had her first litter of kittens in summer 2010 and proved herself to be a very caring and capable mother. Being a beautiful blue-cream tortie tabby (carrying the solid gene) means we can expect a wide variety of colours in her future litters (including blacks, blues, creams, reds, browns, blacks and silvers, all solid or tabby and with or without white) which makes waiting for the babies very exciting.

Poppy came to us from the Miakira cattery - she is a truly international girl with both Russian and German lines in her pedigree. Thank you Tracey for entrusting us with such a special girl.

Holly

Alchemist HollyBerry Sitting pretty at 14 weeks At 12 weeks old Regrowing a new coat at 6 weeks On the road to recovery after her illness At 9 days old

Holly was born in May 2011 and was from Poppy's second litter. She is a Red Solid which is pretty rare, particularly in a female.

We didn't oringinally intend to keep Holly but after nursing her back to health following an illness and bottle feeding her for two weeks until she was ready to eat solid food we found it just too hard to part with her to anyone else.

Like most Siberian youngsters Holly is full of mischief and energy - she often comes to find us dragging her favourite toy (a bow on a piece of string) behind her and chirrups to tell us she's ready for playtime! She is also a very loving young lady who purrs loudly whenever we stroke or cuddle her.

Carrying two copies of the red gene means that Holly will pass the red onto all of her babies which will give us lots of ginger boys and tortoisehell girls in her litters. Depending on the stud we chose she could also give us creams and blue creams and all of these could be tabby or solid and with or without white! Hopefully Holly will have her first litter in 2012.

Bred in 2010 Alchemist Jack of Hearts was one of four kittens from Poppy's first litter and, being a fellow ginger, he quickly wormed his way into Martin's heart.

He's not the brightest cat ever but what Jack lacks in brains he makes up for in beauty. He is a gorgeous Red Tabby with White with a very stiking look and we hope he will do Alchemist proud when we show him.

I have never met another cat as affectionate as Jack, he just loves to come and sit on my lap when I'm watching TV and as soon as we start to stir in the morning he pads up the bed and settles himself on Martins chest or on my pillow purring loudly!

Jack and his mum have become incresingly close since the rest of the litter left. They play with each other a lot, charging round the house chasing one another and play fighting. We often find them cuddled up asleep together too which is so lovely.
